Charitable Donations

Joy was an avid supporter of Mujeres en Cambio (www.mujeresencambio.org), a non-profit, all volunteer, grassroots organization committed to enhancing the lives of women living in the rural communities surrounding San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.


Over 98% of each dollar donated goes to providing educational scholarships and employment opportunities to young women and girls.


Here is a letter from Jenifer, the President, and a friend of Joy's:

Dear Adam,

I have avoided writing you as I am always at a loss at what to say when someone is taken by cancer. I have lost many friends before their time, or before I was ready to let them go, and know that words don't really help. Joy was a valued member of our organization and my daughter, who was quite young at the time, always called her "that beautiful woman with the big trays of sliced vegetables." So she will be remembered as such by us and as a great supporter and member of Mujeres en Cambio.
